Happy heavenly birthday to the horse who helped me live the dream. He would have been 31 today.
Cowboy showed me what a horse and human heart connection could look like. I love and miss him today as much as the day I lost him.
And yet, and yet, I almost gave up on him early in our journey. Imagine that. I almost missed out on all of this.

Love that photo. Bliss.
ReplyDeleteThat photo shoot was done by a family friend. It was the easiest I’ve ever been a part of. I just walked outside, picked a few flowers, and Cowboy did the rest. She got one of me on Cowboy holding Leah and Tweed to either side, too. That one is up in our house. I wanted to capture the passing of the torch. Now it has been passed.
ReplyDeleteLove your special bond and photo! So many beautiful memories!! Photos capture feelings and then visually rekindle them. Priceless.
ReplyDeleteThey do. I had a lot of photos of Cowboy that were just of him or of us on trail rides, but Brit captured something special that night, the way we felt together just being, and I find they take me back emotionally more than the others.
