Our Herd Takes a Run With Their Neighbors (Video)

The sun is out, the temperatures are headed up, and the herd is feeling feisty!  Here's a little video of them running together, and with the neighboring herd, and a little of Beautiful being the sweet-brat she is.    Even Red, our 31 year old, is getting in on the running action!

My TTouch practitioner called me this morning to check-in.  With the weather getting warmer this week, it's the perfect time to do another session with emphasis on the leg work.  She's coming over Thursday for three hours--two for me and one for any of my horse friends who want to do a hands-on clinic.  I'm excited!

You can see in the video that sometimes Cowboy favors his bad side (rather than foot).  However, since I started TTouch, he hasn't stood with it out in front of him at all.  I think the getting out and running and rolling is going to help him strengthen those muscles and align his frame.

Cia, my filly, is going to my trainer April 1st, so I'm going to have the practitioner assess her and give me a program to work on until she leaves.  She said it's GREAT preparation for them before they go into training.

Hope it's sunny your way!

  1. I can definitely see that Spring is in the air there, and the horses are picking up on the energy. I loved watching them just be themselves, running like that. Are they territorial with the neighboring horses?

  2. I could watch them run all day, but they really don't prefer to run much...they'd rather graze. They're really not territorial, they actually love the neighboring horses. If one of them is in distress, my horses will be distressed. They'd love nothing more than to incorporate with them and spend much of the day looking over at each other wishing they could. The running along the fence line was pure joy on all their parts, but the leaders of each herd did rein them in a bit.

  3. It's always wonderful to see horses running and enjoying themselves. The old boy looks pretty good; they all do.
Hope the weather holds out for your Ttouch session.

  6. Thanks Shirley, Annette and Paint Girl--it is great to see Old Red running with the herd still. He's worth his weight in gold.

  7. Those are some gorgeous horses running in beautiful country. I love how far the houses are spaced apart and the scenery is incredible.

  9. Great video, your horses are all gorgeous! Love the end though when Cowboy and Cowgirl (I think) were both rolling in sync. Too cute!!! :)
