A Perfect Way to Spend the 100th Day

I know horses heal hearts because horses healed mine.

There is a place so painful, words fail. In this life, it's impossible to avoid it.

Enter the voiceless world of horses.  There is magic there. There is justice.  There is predictability. There is strength.  There is tenderness.  There is grace.

There's also hard work, bravery, boundaries, and awesome responsibility.

To that quiet world, bring your broken heart. Bring your helplessness. Bring your fear, your vulnerability, your broken dreams.

What comes out of it depends on you and what you're willing to give up.

Give it all up--you don't need it.  The horse has something far greater.

They heal hearts.

Love how you're edging all your photos now - it's very in keeping with your Cowgirl Shack vibe.

  2. Yes ma'am. I think most of us have our own story of horses healing our brokenness. Sharing our love and passion for equines with those who hurt is something that we are all called to do, and like Tom Dorrance said, it has to come from the heart.

    1. Absolutely! The world needs more equine ambassadors out there helping the broken-hearted. I have no doubt, I will have many more troubles of my own to lay at the barn door.

    1. Thank you. Her heart will need a liftetime to heal, but she told me yesterday that she wants me to teach her everything so that she can have her own horses someday.

  6. Oh my gosh, such a perfectly beautiful post Linda. Horses are so unique in their ability to heal, and many times we don't even know we need them. Bless that little girl's heart. Will say a prayer for her.
