Looks like it went pretty uneventfully! She's got a good mind! And you've obviously prepared her well!
Great job. It looks like you could have climbed right on and she wouldn't even have cared! I think she likes you.Juanita
You made it look easy. That's REALLY impressive to those that have done that sort of thing before...Bill
Kara--thank you. She was better prepared than I even knew. Juanita--Thanks! I like her, too. And I did feel like I could have climbed on her. That was only 2 minutes of 50, but she was that calm throughout. My biggest issue was keeping her from eating grass...even while I was cinching her up hard. Bill--it does look easy in the video...and it was, but I was more nervous than it seems from watching that. Looking back at the 50 minutes of footage, I learned a lot about her that I didn't see during it. She's an impressive little horse.
Congratulations - she's come a long way with your careful work! And she's just . . . beautiful!
Well, that looked easy peasy. I think Beautiful feels comfortable with you and isn't concerned with new things as long as you are there to stroke her face.
She looks great! Good job!
Kate, thank you...although I have a ways to go still--got to get past the tying, trailering, and riding part. But I think yesterday did a lot to convince me we can do it.NuzMuz--I had a good laugh at your comment because you caught onto my secret weapon, face petting. Thanks, Andrea...can't wait to get my mail today!
Well done; she is indeed a beautiful girl.
Very cool video. I learn a lot from watching other people with their horses,so I really appreciate people who take the time who post pictures and videos.
W O W !!!!You two are lovely team to watch!!I find Beautiful's story so inspirational. Thank you so much for this blog!!
Shirley, Deanna and Fetlock--thank you for the encouragement. I enjoy watching people with their horses, too, it gives me more confidence with mine. Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful is going to be a great riding horse!Looking at your video I saw you do all those things I *should* have done before getting on the first time- like really waggling the heck out of that saddle and pulling on the stirrups. Ah well, live and learn. This is totally random but... I really want to lie around in the grass of your round pen. It looks soft and comfy.
Great to see the two of you working together! I have a feeling you're going to have a long, trusting relationship!
Congratulations! :-) We don't have to expect it to be a big problem, like in all the Bronc movies of long ago. Terrific!
Way to go, Linda!
I think you two are a great pair. She obviously loves you. I like the way she follows you around curious to see what's next. Beautiful has a lot of trust in you. It looks to me as if she couldn't care less about the saddle as long as you're with her. Nice work.
